Pizza was great! We ordered the Cadillac & Four Cheese. We had a fun time playing the different games available as well. Definitely would go again next time we're in town.

Our family recently visited Backlot Taphouse in Omaha's Aksarben Village, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both adults and kids. We ordered quite a bit of food because we were all hungry. The portions were massive for the fries and we ended up bringing leftovers home which is a great problem to have! Jalapeño Popper Pizza: This pizza was a delightful surprise. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the combination of spicy jalapeños with creamy cheese created a harmonious blend of flavors. Traditional Fries: Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, these fries were a great accompaniment to our meal. Detroit Pizza: Our kids loved the Detroit-style pizza. The thick, airy crust with caramelized edges and generous toppings made it a hit. "Just Fries": Simple yet satisfying, the kids enjoyed these classic fries while engaging in the available games. We tried a couple drinks with our food German Weizenbier: A refreshing choice with subtle hints of banana and clove, pairing excellently with the spicy notes of the pizza. Gin Cocktail: My wife appreciated the well-crafted gin cocktail, which was both flavorful and balanced. Starburst IPA: One of my wife's favorite IPAs which is a little hard to find sometimes. The taphouse offers a welcoming environment with a variety of games that kept our children entertained throughout our visit. The staff were attentive and friendly, enhancing our overall dining experience. The space is large and we never felt cramped or that our kids cheering was too loud for the people around us. We kept hearing thumps above us, apparently there's a gym up there which is pretty funny. If you haven't been here I would recommend that you come try Backlot for the fries alone!

I am obsessed with this pizza place! I went to the Elkhorn location months ago, and can't stop thinking about the texture and taste of these Detroit pizzas. This was my first time coming to the Aksarben location, and it was a much different vibe from the standard restaurant experience we had in Elkhorn. I made a reservation for 8, and the day before our dinner, the manager called to let me know it was a UNO hockey night, so they couldn't get us in until a little later than planned. This worked fine for us, and the manager was very nice about it. When calling ahead to make my reservation, I mentioned bringing in a cake for a birthday, and they said there was no problem with putting this in the back and no charge for us to eat it there. When my party got there, we were told there was no freezer space for our ice cream cake -- this was my bad, I should have clarified over the phone this needed a freezer rather than a fridge! Luckily, they recommended cold Stone next-door, and the staff there allowed us to store our cake for an hour free of charge!! The overall venue here is much more like a sports bar than a restaurant. It was very loud at all times, although it was only about half full at the later time we came in. There were some fun table games to play like tic-tac-toe, connect the dots, And table shots. There is a pretty limited bar menu, as they are primarily known for their beers on tap, of which they have plenty! The mule I got was fine. I absolutely love the butchers word pizza, it has all the toppings I like, and they are very generous with these! My friend got a regular pepperoni pizza, and when I tried it, I realized the reason I love this spot so much is the oil they use on their pizza dough-- this sees into the dough, and gives it such an amazing flavor. Unfortunately, my pizza here had a thicker crust. Then the butchers word I got in Elkhorn, so it wasn't quite as good. Still a great pizza, but not the high I was chasing From a couple months ago! All in all, I would prefer to return to the Elkhorn location for a quieter restaurant vibe, and probably a more consistent product without event driven business.

This is abar that serves Detroit-style pizza to soak up the alcohol. It's a place to hang out, catch up, maybe watch some sports and then walk over to the arena for whatever event is happening. The pizza is really really good, especially the barbecue chicken pie. We drank water, but the bar looked like it had a good assortment of craft beer and cocktails. Service was a lacking. The bartender was the only FOH worker, so we had to order at the bar, gather our own drinks and bus our own table. Hopefully it was just an off night. 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4.

We stopped here again before another hockey game, and I was surprised they had the full menu available from what it appeared. We went with the butchers pizza that tasted amazing. This was my first time with Detroit style pizza and it did not disappoint. I also ordered the bacon cheddar sticks that were very good as well. Our pizza easily fed my husband and myself, and we took home leftovers. They have a decent selection on the menu, so I definitely plan to visit again and try something different.

Stopped here again for food and ordered pizza this time. I'm not a huge deep dish pizza fan, but this pizza was legit. The butcher's pizza (I think that's what it was called) was loaded with sausage, cheese, onions, and pepperoni that tasted great! Lots of beer on tap to choose from too. The service was quick, and the employees were friendly.

I stopped in before a movie and had myself one of their pizzas and a couple of beers on tap. Sat at the bar and received great service. Noise level was what it should be with it not being too busy. The pizza was good but not great, but will still gladly have it again but maybe a different one. Their tap list is on par and changes regularly which is nice.

Backlot is a great place to stop in in Aksarben for a good bite of food with a decent tap list. I had the pizza and the loaded fries, both of which came out quickly and were satiating. While I wish the beer list had a few more local beers on it, there's still plenty to choose from. Backlot remains a solid place to drink and eat in Aksarben.

Wandering from downtown to Aksarben in search of locales open for lunch on a holiday, we found the Backlot Taphouse. What a find! I love pizza and while I've tried and tolerated Chicago deep dish, NY style remains my go-to but ... Detroit pizza! Oh. my. grace! The size here is perfect for two, but don't worry, it's nobody's personal pan. We had the four-cheese and the aroma was intoxicating. The flavors of the different cheeses came through, the rich tomato-y sauce and a delicious buttery crust with that to-die-for cheese crunch -- it would be easy to overdose, but one slice/one quarter of the pizza was enough. And now I have a hefty leftover slice for later! There seemed to be a wide variety of IPAs available, but I'm not a fan, so we went with a cherry cider that was really good. We tried the cheese pizza in order to get an idea of the basics. I can't wait to go again and try some of the other varieties. Last but not least, the people here are great! Order at the bar, they deliver to your table, and really seem to care about what you think. Give them a try!

Just stopped in on a whim. Will be back! Great space, great staff, great music. This pizza is amazing and the bartender made a great suggestion for the beer. Can't wait to come back in Spring.
